David Deida is coming to Seattle!

We are thrilled to announce that David Deida is returning to the
West Coast in the Spring of 2008.

Each live Deida Workshops, as you likely know, is unique in its
content and energy, though all of them leave participants with
an energizing sense of breakthrough and deep renewal of purpose and
passion.

It's one thing to read his work.

It's another to gain "body knowledge" through in-person contact
with David Deida and through his provocative interactive exercises.

By the way, here are just a couple of letters we received after the
October Ecstatic Intimacy workshop...

***

"The workshop really rocked my world. I had no
idea how shut down I was, and I saw that intimacy
was missing in my life. I have been married for 24
years, and I had no idea on what it would take to
create an "ecstatic intimate relationship." I saw
that to have an "ecstatic relationship" with my wife
(or any other woman) will involve putting in
place intimacy practices like the exercises
we did in the workshop. I have done a lot of
transformational seminars since 1979, and I feel that
none of the other workshop leaders really spoke
to my heart liked David Deida did."
-M.T.

And from the Goddess side of the aisle...

"The workshop was really profound for me.
It allowed me to shift from a mental
understandings of Deida's concepts to
an integrated "knowing" of them. That's
simple but huge! One thing that stands out
for me was the realization that men really
do love, cherish, and crave the radiance and
receptivity of the feminine. I didn't realize
that it was so valued and seen. That in turn
gave me confidence to shine away without fear."
- K.H.

***

The Spring Deida Live Workshops will be in new cities, both of
which were chose because they are replete with men and women
committed to doing deeper Deida work.

Here is the schedule:

San Francisco: April 25 -27
Seattle: May 23 - 25

Exact hotel locations will be announced within weeks. And as
always, we will arrange the lowest possible room rates for you.

If you remember, tickets disappeared almost as fast as we could
process them in October and we expect both of these events will
also sell out quickly.

In order to receive further information about these events, you
MUST SIGN IN ON A NEW 2008 PRIORITY LIST AT:

http://www.marketerschoice.com/app/?af=734396

Tickets will be available in a few weeks and, once you are on
the Priority List at - http://www.marketerschoice.com/app/?af=734396 you will
receive advanced notice about how to get tickets before they are
released to the public.

Hope to see you there!

I am an ex-pat Seattlite filmmaker bringing my new film, "THE INVISIBLE FOREST" (2008; 111 min. USA), to the Northwest Film Forum (1515 12th Ave) on SUNDAY JUNE 15, 2pm matinee.

"THE INVISIBLE FOREST" is an experimental feature inspired by the radical theatrical ideas of French Surrealist playwright Antonin Artaud about a group of actors that are working out their art in the forest when their director becomes haunted by nightmares where the ghost of Artaud appears and teaches him a thing or two about real theatre. More details at my tribe profile page. I hope to see you there -- Antero Alli

A friend of mine needs a house cleaned once or twice a month in South Seattle, near Seward Park (that's 10 minutes south of I-90 on Rainier Avenue). The neighborhood is Columbia City.

The housecleaner should be a registered business owner or an employee of a cleaning business, insured, etc.

Any recommendations? Please send me a private email or post the info here.

Thanks in advance!

Hello Tribe. I wanted to invite fellow mystics for an evening of fellowship, food and fun learning. I am particuarly interested in inviting apx. 12 other single mystics ages 30-50 to this event (if more folks want to come we would need someone with a larger living room). As hostess I provide the dough, sauce and cheese for basic pizza - guests bring their favorite topping. For fun learning we can watch a DVD say like "what the bleep" or "ONE" or a speaker like Deepak Chopra etc and have a friendly discussion afterwards. I would like to do this monthly on the last saturday of the month. I am hoping we get enough interest to have other folks witlling to host this monthly gathering of the mystic's tribe in their homes. if interested email me at onakatiya@yahoo.com for an invitation to the event (and say a little about your path as a mystic.... ) blessings

opposition builds to the North American Union

Come and protest the "amero" AUGUST 18th at 1 p.m. at the Seattle Center!!!

Read below for more information!

Opposition Builds to the North American Union
author: onthewingsofhelios
August 20-21, 2007 the leaders of Canada, the United States, and Mexico will meet in Montebello, Quebec to attend their semi-secret third Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America summit meeting to advance the North American Union that is already rapidly being established without the involvement of congress or the knowledge of citizens.
Connie Fogal of the Canadian Action Party was on the Alex Jones Radio Show at infowars.com yesterday to discuss the upcoming meeting in Montebello, Quebec, and where the press and public are NOT welcome.

A 25 km (18 mile) security perimeter will be established around the town of Montebello to keep reporters and demonstrators from bringing attention to what is going on; however, many reporters and protesters plan to go there anyway, at least to the perimeter.

A demonstration protesting the meeting and the North American Union will also be held in the United States at the Seattle Center in Seattle on Saturday, August 18, at 1 PM.

In March 2005 George W. Bush and the leaders of Canada and Mexico signed an agreement to form a security and prosperity partnership for a North American "Community." In other words, they agreed to build a North American Union, but while the agreement received little media coverage at the time, it would take another year for even those following the news closely to begin to the significance and scope of the agreement. Every one of our governmental departments was joined with an appointed spp.gov working group that is rewriting regulations and laws to merge the three governmental systems into a regional government. Congress will serve largely to rubber stamp laws as they are presented by these unelected committees, as is now the case for legislatures in the European Union countries.

According to Connie Fogal of the Canadian Action Party, the spp.gov agreement was a political coup d'etat. It was a take over of the executive government of North America with a transfer of power into private unelected committees following the Soviet model. It was, as radio talk show host Alex Jones says, "Red Dawn in slow motion."

The idea of a North American Union might sound innocent enough or even like a nice idea unless you understand the form of government being set in place. It is worth setting aside time to study what is going on and the difference between the Soviet-style system of appointed committees being set up as opposed to the constitutional system set up by the Founding Fathers with elected government and representatives that serve the people, separation of powers between those who make the laws and those who administer the country, and separation of power between the federal government and the states. The American system was set up to insure that the power remained with the people and could not be taken over by a group who might seize control of government. Of course, the ultra-rich and their self-serving think tanks and agents would prefer to simply take over and have their self-appointed committees decide how we will all live. It will be the middle class and average citizen who will have to make sacrifices of freedoms, rights, and their standard of living.

It is worth noting that without the helpful event of September 11 and the pretext of a lurking enemy, these changes necessary for the North American Union such as the umbrella government of Homeland Security, the Patriot Act, the National ID Card (internal passport), "North American Community", which have long been planned could never could have been justified.

Thanks to the effort of activists such as Connie Fogal in Canada, CNN's Lou Dobbs, investigative reporter Dr. Jerome Corsi and his book the Late Great USA, and Alex Jones' documentaries and radio show in the United States, the word is starting to getting out about the take over of our executive branch by the private interests who control the Council on Foreign Relations. We need to see the larger picture of the events of September 11 and how they have been used to justify take over plans that have long been in the works.

The North American Union did not just spring from September 11 as some kind of sudden bust of inspiration. It was planned and plotted for years by a small group of ultra rich who want to run the world. It's up to the people to speak up for their own selfish interests and to support the US Constitution and Bill of Rights and a government that represents and serves the people.

I recalled all the teachings I had received directly from Guru Padmasambhava when I was his disciple, and I saw all the hardships and difficulties of the time in which I am now living. This made it possible for me to reveal these teachings which are of particular benefit to everyone, in this time of terrible suffering."

Join us for this exceptional visit by one of the greatest living treasure revealer of the innermost esoteric yoga of Primordial Awareness (Tibetan: Dzogchen Pema Nyingtik). Each of these three transmissions can be of extraordinary value in transforming consciousness, developing inner guidance, developing authentic inner spiritual life, and most especially learning the classical Buddhist deity yogas of liberating ones mind, body and spirit.

VAJRAKILAYA EMPOWERMENT - Friday, Aug 24th (6PM - 8PM)
The practice of Vajrakilaya blazes at the very heart of the ancient Vajrayana traditions of Tibet. The wrathful Heruka Vajrakilaya is a Deity who embodies the enlightened activities of all the Buddhas, manifesting in an intensly wrathful yet compassionate form in order to subjugate the delusion and negativity that can arise as obstacles to the practice of Dharma.

In fact, the practice of Vajrakilaya is famous in Tibetan Buddhism as an exceptionally powerful method to remove obstacles, destroy the forces hostile to compassion, and purify the spiritual pollution so prevalent in this age. Vajrakilaya practice is extremely powerful in removing outer, inner and secret obstacles on the Dharma path and is said to bring swift ordinary and extraordinary spiritual accomplishments. It can also avert misfortunes such as war, disease and famine. The practice of this deity makes it very easy to progress on the path, since all obstacles are naturally dispelled and one can achieve the supreme siddhi without any fault.

In summary, the practice of Vajrakilaya reigns supreme amongst Meditational Deities. Practitioners of Vajrayana should all receive this most excellent empowement.

AMITABHA EMPOWERMENT and PHOWA TRANSMISSION
Saturday, Aug 25th (10AM - 12PM)

Phowa is the profound path to Buddhahood without meditation, where the student learns how to transfer his or her consciousness directly to the pure land at the time of death without having to go through the experiences of the intermediate state or fall into any one of the six realms of samsara. This is a skillful method through which anyone with faith may swiftly be liberated.

Through this Empowerment, the seeds are planted in the studentsْ mind streams so they may practice conscious dying at the time of death, through their faith and devotion in the Lama and the practice of P'howa one may be able to bypass rebirth and go to the pure land of Amitabha, the Buddha of Limitless Light.

SHI-TRO EMPOWERMENT - Saturday, Aug 25th (2:30PM – 4:30PM)

This empowerment into the Mandala of the 42 Peaceful and 58 Wrathful
Enlightened Deities grant blessings beyond expression. It introduces us to the display of the peaceful and wrathful energies of the enlightened mind as they appear to beings in the intermediate state, or Bardo, between death and the next rebirth.

This empowerment will truly be a priceless opportunity to affirm our connection with the enlightened Deities, to purify damaged or impaired samaya and strengthen our spiritual connection. It is recommended for all students who wish to progress along the path of secret mantra and purify their defilements and negative karma of body, speech, and mind. The Shi-tro Empowerment is highly suggested for all who attend the Bardo teachings.

EXTENSIVE BARDO TEACHINGS - Sunday - Wednesday
Aug 26th - 29th (10 AM – 12 PM and 2:30 PM - 4:30 PM)

Join us for 4 days of extensive teachings on the Six Bardos, or intermediate states, including the Bardo of Birth, the Bardo of Dreaming, the Bardo of Meditation, the Bardo of Dying, the Bardo of Dharmata, and the Bardo of Becoming. Each of these six bardos presents us with opportunities for recognizing the true nature of our mind and being liberated from the duality of
self-clinging and subject-object grasping.

Receiving these teachings from a living master who has direct realization of this is a rare and priceless gift. Through these instructions, there is opportunity for finding enlightenment when encountering these bardos, rather than being overwhelmed by them or frightened by the appearances of the dying state and so forth. This is a precious opportunity to prepare ourselves for that moment of death we will all have to face, and to make a connection with a Vajra Dharma Master who can guide us along the path of liberation.

The Truth about Manifesting is Balance

Hi Everyone,
I am new in Seattle and love it so far.
Just wanted to heads up everyone on this incredible inspired speaker that is coming to town. His name is Dr. John Demartini and he is a healer, teacher, author, and speaker. He travels around the world speaking on the science of human consciousness, the sacred mysteries in religions and how that correlates to astronomy and quantum physics, and the Universal Principals of life. I have found lots of correlations to his work in the Tao De Ching, Egyptology, Myan spirituality, Emmersons Writings, Rumi's poetry. It is basically about gratitude and balance. I would love to meet some people who are interested in this sort of thing in Seattle. He is also speaking in Portland and Vancouver that same week and doing a major workshop that will transform your perspective and your life that weekend, Aug 18-19, which I will be attending.
Dr. Demartini was featured in the Secret, although I personally feel that his work is so much realer and richer than what is in the secret, and the people who made the secret really scewed his message in a lot of ways. So if you want to know the deeper meaning behind the secret, a meaning that incorporates balance, this is the greatest speaker I have found so far.
You can email me if you are going or want to know more, or if you know about anything else like this going on in Seattle.
Dig Life,
King County just decided not to purchase this voting equipment mainly due to the efforts of two San Juan County residents who have been spreading the word and fileing suit. (thanks Tim White and Allen Rosato)
Please oh please check out the profile and consider making friends.
This is definately not just a local issue.

Seattle Bollywood Dance Classes!

Do you adore the bollywood dance sensation that has swept the globe? Have you always wanted to learn the intricate movements, dramatic facial expressions, and graceful stylings such as those of Aishwarya Rai and Madhuri Dixit? Come join our Bollywood class in the Seattle U-District!!!

Our instructor is the phenomenal Nalini, dance extraordinaire. She has studied and taught the Indian classical dance Kathak and Bollywood, her passion, since she was 13 years old. She is also a famous award-winning bellydancer, with a fine arts degree in dance choreography.

Her classes are challenging, inspiring, tons of fun, and focused on making your dancing all it can be. As her students, we are her biggest fans, her friends, and we welcome any to come and try it out! Don't be mislead - it's hard! When I first started, I wasn't sure I could do it. But it doesn't take long before you are jumping, gesturing, head-bobbling away to the sounds of Kajra Re, Choli Ke Peeche, and many other classics.

The class is listed as a performance class because many of the students wish to perform the dances we are learning as a group, however, performance is not a requirement to enter the class. The class is also currently running on Friday nights, however, we are looking into starting another class on a different day. If interested, please see Nalni's website for more information: www.nalinidance.com/ or email me at a_briggs2@yahoo.com. You can also view her page on Tribe! people.tribe.net/nalinidance

Effecting Change: call for volunteers & workshop leaders

Hey all,

The Effecting Change: Tools for Our Generation activist conference needs volunteers to help with outreach and event support the weekend of. If you have some free time right now to help send out emails, make phone calls, and put up posters, email Jen Power the Volunteer Coordinator at volunteers@actionnw.net. If you have time the weekend of April 27th-29th, email Jen too. Either way, specify what you want to help with and how much time you think you can commit (approx).

The Effecting Change conference also needs workshop leaders - look at the letter below to figure out how to apply :)

Dear Tribe.net member:

The "Effecting Change" conference is back for its second year, sponsored
by the Gay-Straight Alliance at Seattle University. It'll be
the same environmental and social justice training event, but bigger and
better than before. The conference will at Seattle University on April
27th-29th, 2007.

The mission of "Effecting Change" is to bring together a wide range of
activists to mix, mingle, and learn the skills they need to effect change
in their communities. We want to inspire people to become leaders,
working effectively towards a just and sustainable world. Our theme this
year is "do-it-yourself" - the focus is to give activists the basic skills
it takes to get out there and start change on their own. Potential
workshop topics include Self Defense Training, Creating and Communicating
Your Message, Equality Training 101, and How to Plan a Successful Event.

These are only a few examples of the multitude of workshops we hope to
gather together at "Effecting Change". We welcome you to bring your
expertise and experience to the conference by leading a workshop of your
own. Please send us an email to tfogworkshops@gmail.com with:

. your name
. preferred title and pronoun
. organizational affiliation
. city/region you're from
. working workshop title
. workshop description
. your relevant background/ qualifications to teach this workshop
. scheduling preferences (if any, for either Saturday or Sunday)
. technical needs for the workshop (AV equipment, etc.)

Please send in your application as soon as possible; we hope to begin reviewing
applications in early March.

Hope to hear from you soon,
meeting about condos going in where Kincora's, Manray, the Cha Cha, and the Bus Stop are

Hey all,

Yes, six stories of condos are going in where these beloved bars (and Bimbo's Bitchin Burrito Kitchen) now stand. They are a block long, not very good looking, and the developer does not want any bars underneath his condos (he's been sued before for noise complaints - same developer that had problems with the Twist in Beltown). They are small and expensive condos, there are no rental units planned in the building, and the price of the retail spaces is doubling (from 14 to 28 per square foot).

The good news is that there still might be something we can do to make this less bad. The condos will go in, but we're early enough in the Design Review Process that we might be able to affect the final shape this development takes. I'll be talking about this, and showing off the plans for the condos at the meeting below.

Dear fellow Seattleites,

Seattle is the only city I know of that does not have a tribe dedicated to queers and my group of friends and I decided to change that! I would like to invite all queers and their friends to join Seattle's new queer/LGBT tribe.

Yesterday, Lt. Ehren Watada had his pre-trial hearing in our Seattle backyard at Fort Lewis Military Base.
A small group of dedicated, openhearted, courageous men (members of Iraq Veterans Against the War) are camping in the freezing rain to draw attention to Watada's situation, and issues the media and america seem to be forgetting.
Read the latest blog; check out their site; go down and meet these awe-inspiring young men; hear their stories; welcome them to the Tribe. Whatever your political opinion, they are worth meeting.
You will love them!!!

DENNIS's Blog Jan.5,2007 ivawdeployed.org

Please support this move....as troops are gathering to support Ehren Watada in his stand against the lies that have gained our nation nothing more than death and despise.

Purple Heart, 'Winner' Darrell Anderson returned from 18 months in hiding when he heard that Lt. Watada had refused to deploy. Darrell Anderson would have deployed to his third tour had he not gone north. Anderson asked me to get on the (www.ivawdeployed.org) with him and get to Fort Lewis to open up Camp RESISTANCE!!!

We are here, in the mud. It is not warm here...nor dry.....however, you should stand with us....in support of a man who stands up against the military mahine and a nation of millions who don't have the foggiest notion that our troops do not want to serve in this war. Lt. Watada is speaking for thousands of enlisted soldiers like Darrell Anderson and myself, a fifteen year veteran of the Army. Watada is a true leader.....leading and doing....he knows he should never ask enlisted soldiers to do things he would never do....that is part of the requirement. NEVER ask nor order your troops to do things that you wouldn't do. There are more violators of this rule in the military now, than ever (or at least in my 15 years.) Lt. Watada is not one of them...and with that, the soldiers, who have always followed good leaders....will follow Lt. Watada.. Mike, Damon, Ethan and I, slept on the rig last night...it was night one of Camp RESISTANCE!!!

There is a RESISTANCE!!! going on. Thousands of troops are refusing to deploy....please let everyone know we are here.....working from the wi fi hot spot, let them know they should stand here too. If not for a month as we will, than for a day or even an hour.

We are at off ramp 119, gates of Fort Lewis.

We are meeting up at the gates of Fort lewis to support the Lt. Why? We have had enough...we want the war to stop....we want the government to stop using the troops as pawns in their game. If you know of a veteran who is opposed to this war, please help them get here....if you are ok with the weather, please get here also.

I, personally, will always think it an honor and a privilege to have served the United States people...I know Ehren does too. It is with that same pride and honor that I, personally, ask you to do something for this man....who has, without question stood, with more integrity in his little pinky, than most of these Generals have in their entire skin. I am honored to know his family, they are a wonderful display of family values...something we don't see a lot of.

To support him.... (www.thankyoult.org/) you will find the news to follow the days up to the trial......

live from Camp RESISTANCE!!!

OCT 5 - DAY OF MASS RESISTANCE

World Can't Wait is organizing people living in the United States to take responsibility to stop the whole disastrous course led by the Bush administration. We seek to create a political situation where the Bush administration's program is repudiated, where Bush himself is driven from office, and where the whole direction he has been taking U.S. society is reversed.

We seek to mobilize millions to express their outrage, to speak the truth, to act with urgency and form an organized political resistance. We welcome any individuals and groups who agree that the Bush Regime should be driven out, whatever their political party affiliation or lack thereof. We reach out to people who have been fooled by Bush, and to those who have been most seriously affected by the outrages inflicted by the Bush Regime.

Looking to Adopt a Baby

My wife and I are looking to adopt a baby, preferably a girl. We have comepleted a homestudy, as required by the state and are ready to meet with any interested birth mothers that are considering an adoption plan for a baby. If you know anyone that may have an unwanted pregnancy or is struggling with the situation of having a child that they may not be able to support, please ask them to get in touch with us.

We have a toll free number that a birth mother can call any time: 800-640-1862. This number is for birthmothers only, as it will ring to my wife's cell phone. She will be tremendously excited to get a call from a prospective birthmother, so please respect that. We would be happy to answer any questions you may have about us and the process of this adoption plan. Please feel free to reply back to me on Tribe for more info or discussion.

We are pursuing an independent adoption, which means we are not going through an agency. We have an attorney that will assist with the process and assure all the legal requirements are met to preserve everyone's rights as agreed. We are open to any race/cultural background. We just want a healthy, happy baby girl to bring into our loving home.

Thanks very much for your time & consideration.

Seattle losing fight to save cheap seafood for the consumer

The passiveness of Seattle's population is helping to destroy our ability to buy inexpensive fresh, wild, and locally caught seafood in one of the greatest fishing ports of the West Coast -- SEATTLE!!!

FISHERMAN's TERMINAL...
Where else can you buy fresh tuna for $6 per pound? Or wild salmon, shrimp, crab, halibut, or cod right off the boat? All at the lowest prices in Seattle, right off the boat, direct to the consumer? NOWHERE!!!!
The rich developers are corrupting our seaport managers! In turn, the Port of Seattle is literally chasing the small fishermen out of Seattle. Read about how they intend to develop even more of the terminal, which will raise fees and chase the smaller, independent fishing boats away from Seattle -- THIS MEANS NO MORE INEXPENSIVE FISH FOR THE SEATTLE CONSUMER!!!

Saving The Sound: Biggest Challenge May Be Engaging The Public

Article appears today at --

Part of the problem is that many area residents look at beautiful, sparkling Puget Sound and don't see a problem. The waters are not visibly tainted, floating toxins are not catching fire, dead fish don't litter the surface.

But pollution and runoff - growing along with the region's population - are undermining the 90-mile-long heart of the Northwest lifestyle and economy, even as the incomparable setting draws growing numbers of people and businesses.

"The progress that has been made has been almost overwhelmed by population growth," Governor Chris Gregoire said. While the state has made dramatic advancements against industrial pollution, the key issue now is population growth.

"We have seen the enemy and it is us," Gregoire said. "My greatest fear is that we're going to wait until it's too late."

The Short & Sweet Guide To Great Bier/Beer on Tap in Seattle!

After many nights of searching for the best bier on tap here in town, I, and a few friends, have come to the conclusion that these are the places to drink the best bier in Seattle:

1. Brouwer's Cafe (50+ taps, many Belgians, Americans, lots of strong ales, a bit pricey, but you won't find these biers on tap anywhere else)
2. Elysian Pub - Downtown (15+ taps, we all know the Elysian, almost everything they brew is fantastic!)
3. Tangletown Elysian Pub - Greenlake (15+ taps, extension from Downtown, you can find brews here that are brewed at Tangletown, and do not leave Tangletown)
4. The Duck Island (20+ taps, a strange place...a dive bar with amazing brew, they have Lucifer flowing on a nitrous tap)
5. Collin's Pub (20+ taps, a wide selection of IPA 's, strong ales, and more)
6. Stumbling Monk (10+ taps, specializing in mostly Belgians, this is a great place for strong ale, just with limited seating)
7. Barking Dog (20+ taps, a great selection of IPA's, stouts, American ale, and they will always have a rotating seven or eight strong ales from other countries)

And for a damn good, but not great experience, IMO (beer selection wise, the food at these spots is amazing) hit up:

8. Latona Pub (15+ taps, head here if you're an IPA fan!)
9. Columbia City Ale House
10. Hilltop Ale House
11. 74th St. Ale House

And if you're feeling strange, and want to drive across the water there is always:

12. The Rogue Issaquah Brewry (20+ taps, we al know Rogue beer...get a lot of it here!)
13. The Taphouse Grill (165 taps....................what more do I need to say!)

With that guide to Seattle, you can never go wrong!

Let me know if anyone's ever down for a drink!

spiral out

Make a Fremont Solstice Parade and play with goo….

Make a Fremont Solstice Parade and play with goo….

I am a total loser. I can’t make a friend to save my life and was just about to give up, move to the desert, and spend the rest of my life drinking magic Kool-Aid. One night while surfing the “The Most Fantabulous Places in Seattle” website I came across this….

http://www.fremontartscouncil.org/

I decided to show up and make a parade, but not your ordinary corporate sponsored, high school marching band, politician baby kissing parade. In fact it is arch nemesis of the average parade. Imagine the most creative people you have met in three lifetimes gathering together, pouring out their hearts and souls, and creating an amazing event of pageantry and visionary beauty. There, that sounds about right.

So, even being the total loser, I have set aside the Kool-Aid and found a wonderful event and people to spend my time with.

The parade is on June 17th at 12pm and a pageant at 4pm in Gasworks park.

We need your help to participate in the parade and the pageant. We are building feverishly 12-14hrs a day leading up to the parade. Someone is here to talk to you about it.

3940 Fremont Ave N
Seattle, WA 98103
206-547-7440

Come by the powerhouse to talk and build really cool things. We can show you around and give you all the information you need.

I personally need people to be a part of my techno tribe in the pageant. All you have to do is show up and I will tell you everything you need to know. Either reach me at
Email
Corey
megawattlovin(at)gmail.com

Or just show up to:
Gas Works Park
http://www.ci.seattle.wa.us/parks/parkspaces/GASWORKS.htm
Thursday June 15th, 6pm

There are 6 tribes and many other roles that need people to make it all possible.

See you there!
Corey

Does anyone know of any Loft Spaces or spacious-type living quarters for rent on Capitol/First Hill or in the area? Nothing too fancy or expensive (hoping to keep it under 800). Basic plumbing/bathroom with shower and electricity. Trying to find basic living quarters with enough space to have a capoeira/movement workout space. Thanks.

Brand New Couch For Sale!!!

Hi everyone,

So we have this couch that we bought about 2 months ago. It was just delivered this weekend and it won't fit into our townhouse so it's sitting forlornly in our garage. It totally sucks because we LOVE this couch. It's one of the most comfortable couches ever! And it's really pretty, very subtle colors. It's a subtle forest green with lots of pillows and an extra-wide seat. We bought it on sale for $1100, so we'd like to sell it for $900 but will be willing to hear other offers. I don't know how to post pics in these messages, but email me if you are interested and I'll send you pics.

Thanks!
Andrea

Hey all, I was shopping at the Ben Franklin in Redmond and I got a free print that was hand signed by Amy! I guess they are having some kind of "Spring Fairy Festival" and this was one of the promotions. It's great because it's a large size (11x14). Just thought y'all might want to know since it's a limited edition collectible piece that was done just for their store.

I just read that someone was selling Real Seattle Rain on EBAY. I checked
out the link and found out that the 16oz bottle sold for $15.50. I can’t believe it.
They took pictures of the bottled rain all over Seattle, it’s very funny.
Thought I’d pass along the story.

be an amnesty international photographer

Amnesty International USA is currently planning the 2006 Annual General Meeting (AGM) set to take place April 28-30 in Portland. The AGM is our organization’s annual national conference for all of its members and activists to interact. As you may know, Amnesty International (AI) is a Nobel Prize-winning grassroots activist organization with over 1.8 million members in over 150 countries and territories in every region of the world. The organization undertakes research and action focused on preventing and ending grave human rights abuses. Events at the conference itself include numerous seminars, roundtables, film screenings and a prominent concert at the Roseland Theater (capacity 1400).

We would like a bright, talented photographer to attend the conference and capture it all. The concert is going to be part of our Make Some Noise campaign and will feature a BIG, surprise headlining band - it would be awesome to get photos of this event specifically, in addition to general shots of attendees, workshops, film screenings, etc.

Let us know if you are willing to donate your time and expertise to our cause!

You may also contact me here: cristina.amnestyintl@gmail.com

Looking for a new space to rent for my yoga classes

Hello,

I'm looking to expand my yoga classes to new nights and locations. I'm looking for space in either Belltown, Capitol Hill, Fremont, Queen Anne, or downtown (maybe Wallingford, U-District or Central District). I'm hoping to rent space on either a Wednesday or Thursday night for 2 hours sometime around 6 pm to 8 pm. I'm looking for a non-traditional space for the classes (outside the bounds of a yoga studio)

Ideally, the space would have a 600 sq ft floor space that's open, with a relatively even floor space - flooring anything but pure concrete. For lighting, I'm hoping for ambient - dark is good - fluorescents are very very very bad.

Oh yes, and I would like to not go broke paying for the space (so $200 a night is out).

I've been contacting different venues on my own but have not gotten anywhere (emails go into some kind of quark singularity), so if anyone knows anyone who works at a great venue, and can pass along to me their insider contact info, I promise to worship you for several long minutes.

Thanks! Kimberlee

Driven to take Seattle to the next level, Osiris has been deep into creating several projects. He has teamed up with Infinite Connections to bring the best of Europe?s tribal progressive trance music and world class art to the Pacific Northwest in a series of events called IOSIS Art Parties. As co-founder of the Oracle Gatherings, he is bringing a new paradigm in a growing dance community by integrating with the Northwest?s mythical undercurrent. In 2002 Jason began building his studio and now actively is working on tracks with a new full length release slated for release in the fall of '05. www.djjasonphilips.com

Womanipura derived their name from combining the words "woman" and "manipura." Manipura is the Sanskrit name for the Solar Plexus Chakra located above the navel and just below the sternum where one's self-will and inner fire are located. Manipura represents energy and vitality and translates to "lustrous gem." Manipura resonates to the color yellow and is associated with the element of Fire. Powers gained through awakening of one's Manipura includes knowledge of one's own body through movement and no fear of fire. The life lesson that can be gained through acknowledgment of Manipura is the courage to take risks. Manipura is about the power to be a unique individual while celebrating one's continuing connection with all of humanity. The 3 members of Womanipura - Devon, Heather & Jessica - approach their fire dancing with this in mind. Using elements of dance, yoga, capoeira, contact dance and improv, each member is able to contribute their own style to the troupe, creating an awe-inspiring show of sisterhood and fl
